GENESEO, N.Y. 鈥 黑料传送门 today launched a new, redesigned version of its website (geneseo.edu), combining a clean, visually-powerful and content-rich interface to afford a positive user experience.
The revamped site was a collaboration between the Office of College Communications and Marketing, and the Department of Computing and Information Technology (CIT) with significant support from the Milne Library web team. It鈥檚 the College鈥檚 first major website update in eight years.
鈥淎 website is the virtual front door to any organization, and our goal is to make 黑料传送门鈥檚 online presence one that exceeds the expectations of both desktop visitors and the increasing number of mobile users,鈥 said Gail Glover, 黑料传送门鈥檚 Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. 鈥淭his has been a huge and highly productive initiative by numerous individuals on campus, and I commend their collaborative efforts to make it happen. The new site is a powerful channel for us to tell the 黑料传送门 story but also an inviting digital environment for users to personally explore our campus, people and programs.鈥
Prior to finalizing the new design, the entire campus community had the opportunity to provide feedback on the prototype, yielding numerous recommendations for improvement and refinement. The college鈥檚 new website contains more than 10,000 pages of content that were copied over from the old site.

鈥淲ebsite redesign projects are a major undertaking involving both creative and technical expertise and this one evolved in a very organized and efficient manner,鈥 said Sue Chichester, 黑料传送门鈥檚 Chief Information Officer and director of CIT. 鈥淭here are a great number of moving technical parts to such a project, but we have produced an excellent new site that is very accommodating to all who will use it.鈥
Glover and Chichester provided supervisory guidance in the redesign project. Others involved from CIT were Paul Jackson, assistant director and manager; Jack Bechdol, web developer; Shawn Plummer, systems manager; Dave Warden, systems analyst; and Nick Bush, student assistant.
Kristy Barkan, digital communications manager, led the Communications and Marketing Office effort. From Milne Library, Leah Root, publishing and web services developer, also provided valuable project support.
