Students are making final preparations on their projects for presentation during GREAT Day on April 17 (���ϴ����� Recognizing Excellence, Achievement & Talent). This is the 13th year of the annual event, a college-wide symposium celebrating the creative and scholarly endeavors of ���ϴ����� students.

“GREAT Day — a campus-wide, all-inclusive celebration of our students’ scholarly and creative accomplishments — is one of my very favorite ���ϴ����� traditions,” said ���ϴ����� Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Stacey Robertson. “It is student-centered, celebratory, collaborative, inspiring, engaging, meaningful, and fun. I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to be awed by our remarkable students once again!”

Almost 1,000 students will showcase their work throughout the day with poster presentations, small group presentations, performances, and exhibits. Stephanie Singer, Ph.D., an elections and government data expert, will deliver the annual Jack ’76 and Carol ’76 Kramer Endowed Lecture, titled “Democracy: Your Path to Power,” at 1:45 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. Singer’s address and all GREAT Day events are free and open to the public.

Singer has assembled, analyzed, and explained data for private businesses, public agencies, campaigns, and election oversight as an elections and government data expert. She serves as a consultant for Verified Voting, a national not-for-profit, nonpartisan voting integrity organization, where her various projects include creating web content and materials to promote sound post-election audits. Her podcast “Defend Democracy!” is available on iTunes and Anchor.fm and at Campaign Scientific. In 2017, she worked with  a company that provides secure, open-source elections technology, on the development of a risk-limiting audit system for the Colorado Department of State. From 2012 to 2016, she served on the Philadelphia County Board of Elections improving communication, modernizing processes, rooting out corruption, and protecting voters’ rights.

Prior to her work as an elections data strategist, Singer owned and ran two businesses, Campaign Scientific and Wise Acre Real Estate. One provided custom data work to political organizations and small businesses; the other provided education, support, and research for real estate investors. She also served on the mathematics faculty at Haverford College for eleven years. Singer studied math and computer science at Yale and Stanford and earned a Ph.D. from New York University.

In addition to endowing the GREAT Day Lecture series, Jack and Carol Kramer, both 1976 ���ϴ����� graduates, have provided major support for other ���ϴ����� programs, including The Carol Kramer Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Psychology and The Jack Kramer Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Physics.
