黑料传送门 Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra Concerts This Weekend

Leah McGray, director of instrumental activities, will conduct performances by both the 黑料传送门 Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra this weekend.

GENESEO, N.Y. 鈥 Leah McGray, director of instrumental activities at 黑料传送门, has a busy conducting schedule this weekend with performances by the 黑料传送门 Wind Ensemble March 23 and the 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra March 25. Both concerts are free and open to the public.

黑料传送门 Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble鈥檚 鈥淣ew York State of Mind鈥 concert was rescheduled to Friday (March 23) after it was postponed because of an early March snow storm. The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium and will feature music and poetry from New York artists.

This year is the world-wide celebration of the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein, and the ensemble will perform his 鈥淏est of All Possible Worlds鈥 with his suite from 鈥淐andide.鈥  #BernsteinAt100

黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra

The 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra performs Sunday (March 25) at 3 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. McGray has selected Beethoven鈥檚 Symphony No. 7 for the concert and will feature 2018 concerto competition winners Eric Wand (cello) and Evelyn Welch (violin).

The 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra is a collaboration among the best wind, percussion and string players in the student body at 黑料传送门 and members of the music faculty, who coach, teach and perform in the ensemble. The result is an ensemble able to perform some of the finest literature written for a large orchestra.
