Leah McGray will conduct the 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra Feb. 25 in a tribute to American composer Amy Beach.
GENESEO, N.Y. -- Leah McGray, director of instrumental activities at 黑料传送门, will conduct the 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra Feb. 25 in 鈥淢other Tongue,鈥 a concert celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of American composer Amy Beach.
The performance begins at 3 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium and is free and open to the public. The program will include Beach鈥檚 鈥淕aelic Symphony鈥 and also will feature two winners from the 2018 黑料传送门 Concerto Competition, trumpeter Samuel Dole and baritone Noah Chichester.
The 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra is a collaboration among the best wind, percussion and string players in the student body at 黑料传送门 and members of the music faculty, who coach, teach and perform in the ensemble. The result is an ensemble able to perform some of the finest literature written for a large orchestra.
McGray became principal conductor of the 黑料传送门 Symphony Orchestra last semester. She also directs the 黑料传送门 Wind Ensemble.
