黑料传送门 Chamber Singers Have Busy December Concert Schedule

Chamber Singers

GENESEO, N.Y. 鈥 黑料传送门鈥檚 premier choral ensemble, the 黑料传送门 Chamber Singers, has a busy December with multiple concerts scheduled over the next two weeks.

Under the direction of Gerard Floriano, professor and chair of the Department of Music, the ensemble has been selected by blind audition as the only university/college choir to perform at this year鈥檚 New York State School Music Association鈥檚 annual winter conference Dec. 3 in Rochester, N.Y. The performance will be before the largest gathering of high school music teachers and students in the state and will feature the music of Moses Hogan, Frank Tichelli, Gioacchino Rossini and Anton Bruckner. It鈥檚 the second time the ensemble has been selected to perform at the conference.

The following day, Dec. 4, the Chamber Singers will be performing Handel鈥檚 鈥淢essiah鈥 with the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, 黑料传送门 alumna Laura Heimes and other professional soloists at Hochstein Performance Hall, 50 N. Plymouth Ave. in Rochester. The 53-year tradition of this concert is among the jewels of the holiday season. Tickets are available online, at any Wegmans service counter or by phone at (585) 442-9778.

The Chamber Singers will be singing excerpts from 鈥淢essiah鈥 Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. at St. Michael鈥檚 Church, 23 Main St., in 黑料传送门. The concert also will feature the Spectrum Women鈥檚 Ensemble, under the direction of Amy Cochrane, and the first-ever performance by the newly formed 黑料传送门 Men鈥檚 Choir, both also under Floriano鈥檚 direction. The concert is free and open to the public.
