Sociology Alumni

’12

I’m an assistant professor of Sociology at North Carolina State University. After graduating from ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ with my BA in history and sociology in 2012, I got my MA in sociology from the University at Albany in 2014 and my PhD from the Ohio State University in 2020. My sociology classes at ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ were so exciting and engaging that they made me want to keep learning more about sociology and how to do research. Now that I teach my own classes in sociology, I think back to the great teachers I had at ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ and try to inspire my students to get excited about my courses as well. I get to research mass incarceration and its effects on inequality, topics I first learned about at ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ.
