I am the retired Chief of Primary Care at Veteran Administration Medical Center at Beckley WV .  My degree from  ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ provided me with opportunity to explore societal structures and develop insights into the working of groups and their influence on life. ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ enable me  to build leadership skills and provided me skills to lead complex organizations and to think outside traditional ways of doing things to accomplish goals .
My degree from ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ provided a stepping stone to Graduate School at the University of Missouri where I graduated with a Master’s of Science in Social Work. Upon graduation I worked at the VAMC Columbia Missouri as a Social Worker in Geriatrics and then In Medical  Social Work. At my next assignment in Salisbury NC  VAMC  I worked in the admissions area and provided congressional liaison services . At  the Salisbury VAMC I was promoted to a Social  Work supervisor. My next assignment was Chief of Social Work Service at VAMC Beckley WV . Upon working on the process to restructure the VA’s to a more patient oriented institution l briefly worked as the Assistant Chief of Psychiatry and was later promoted to be the first Non physician within the VA system to be the Chief of a Primary Care Department .
