Become a Safe Zone Trainer

Are you passionate about LGBTQ issues? Do you want to develop your facilitation and leadership skills while making concrete contributions to making ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ a more welcoming and inclusive place? Want to get to know LGBTQ & ally faculty & staff and work alongside them?

requirements: students must have a demonstrated interest in (but don’t have to identify as) LGBTQ issues; must be available the whole academic year for which they apply. Minimum qualifications for acceptance are listed below. Applications open 9/8/25 and close 10/5/25 @ 11:55 pm. Click here to apply.

No late applications can be considered. Accepted students will be given permission to register for the course by the instructor.

Step 2: you’ll need to reach out to two references (one must be a ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ faculty or staff member, the other can be anyone, including a friend) and have them affirm they’re willing to fill out a short recommendation form for you.

Step 3: students who apply will be contacted about in-person interviews, which will take place about a week after applications are due. All applicants will be informed whether or not they’ve been selected by the beginning of advance registration in October.

Step 4: Students who successfully who are selected for the course will be given permission to register for the course and then must officially add it via myºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ.
