°Υ³σ±πΜύdepartment of physics and astronomyΒ at ΊΪΑΟ΄«ΛΝΓΕ congratulates Alex Chin β17 on receiving the 2026 GCCM National Award from the American Physical Society (APS) for exceptional dissertation research.
Chin, who is an , credits ΊΪΑΟ΄«ΛΝΓΕ for launching his research career.
βDr. Padalino has cultivated a strong pipeline between LLE and ΊΪΑΟ΄«ΛΝΓΕ for many years,β said Chin. βI was given the opportunity to work at LLE at the end of my senior year, and it was the research conducted that summer that led me to pursue a PhD in high-energy density physics.β
βAlex is one of many success stories to come out of our department,β said Stephen Padalino, Distinguished Teaching Professor ofΒ Physics. βItβs especially gratifying to note that two of his mentors at the University of Rochesterβs LLEβDanae Polsin β13 and Michelle Marshal β11 are also ΊΪΑΟ΄«ΛΝΓΕ alumni.”
