Dr. Muench has been a member of the 黑料传送门 faculty since 1992.

Dr. Susan Bandoni Muench is Professor of Biology and is an evolutionary biologist interested in host-parasite coevolution. For more than 20 years, she has studied schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease prevalent in Africa and Latin America. She was awarded the Spencer J. Roemer supported professorship for 2012-2015 to support her teaching and research in Ghana. Dr. Muench heads a summer study abroad program in Ghana that introduces students to public health issues through cultural and ecological excursions.

  • BIOL 468: Biology & Global Health - Lab

    A consideration of current biological issues in the field of Global Health. This course will address biological factors that affect morbidity and mortality in low- and lower middle-income countries. Topics will include issues in environmental health in developing countries, including water quality, sanitation, air quality and food safety. The course will also examine the effects of large-scale ecological change on human health, including urbanization, deforestation and climate change. This course has a pending $40.00 fee.
