Experimental foundations that support the biomedical understanding of immune function. How innate and adaptive immunity respond to pathogens. The roles of humoral and cell-mediated immunity in response to pathogens and commensal organisms. How the molecular and cellular basis of immunity affects immune responses in transplantation, autoimmune disease and cancer.

An introduction to the principles and concepts of growth, morphogenesis and differentiation in developing and regenerating organisms.
